Fable: [fey-buhl] 1. A short tale to teach a moral lesson, often with animals or inanimate objects as characters, at times humans from the House. 2. A story not founded on fact.

Fable—the members and a jordon

In the political battleground of Washington D.C., a controversial figure emerges, none other than Jim Jordan. Known for his unwavering support of former President Trump and his role as a staunch Republican, Jordan’s candidacy for Speaker of the House raises eyebrows and stirs heated debates.

As the story unfolds, it becomes evident that Jordan’s reputation precedes him. A track record filled with conspiracy theories, denial of election results, no legislative record, and bullying tactics paints a concerning picture for those who question if he is fit for such an influential position, especially with two wars, and the 2024 election. Critics argue that his divisive rhetoric does not align with the values necessary to lead effectively in a time of great political polarization. He still holds that the 2020 election was stolen supporting Trump’s attempted coup. Jordon said he never said the election was stolen.

But that’s not all.

Amidst the chaos, whispers about Jordan’s involvement in a scandal come to light. Allegations suggest that during his time as an assistant wrestling coach at The Ohio State University, he turned a blind eye to reports of sexual abuse within the team. The revelation is shocking and adds fuel to the fire against his bid for Speaker.

As news outlets begin to investigate further into these claims, testimonies from former athletes start pouring in. They recount their traumatic experiences while sharing their frustration with Jordan’s alleged knowledge and lack of action. The public sentiment quickly turns against him, as people question how someone with such serious allegations can be considered for one of the highest positions in Congress.

Meanwhile, opposition from within his own party begins to grow. Concerned Republicans who value integrity and accountability express doubts about supporting Jordan for Speaker. They argue that choosing him would tarnish their party’s reputation and send a disheartening message to survivors of sexual abuse across the country. At the last minute Republican Representative Austin Scott filed papers to run against Jordon for Speaker. He dropped out after receiving 81 votes to Jordons 120.

The story reaches its climax as members of Congress gather to cast their votes for Speaker of the House. They’ve seemingly agreed to support Jordon in the House vote. In an unexpected turn of events, several prominent Republicans break rank and refuse to support Jordan’s bid. But as the votes are being tallied, the systems suffers a computer breakdown, voting is suspended til, it’s up and running. `

The final scene is a mystery. Republicans across the country are being questioned about their character, ethics, and their ability to lead with integrity. Thousands of phone calls barrage House members, especially those sitting in moderate districts. The voting suspension has provided more time for citizens voice their reps telling them to do the right thing.

One outcome suggests that In the end, the nation breathes a collective sigh of relief, knowing that justice prevailed and that those who stand accused of turning a blind eye to abuse will be held accountable. The story serves as a reminder to never underestimate the power of standing up for what is right, even in the face of powerful figures in politics. Another outcome, however, is Jordon manages a win using bullying and threats to create a Trump-like atmosphere with retribution filling air.

Who gets the gavel, an alternate members or the jordon? What’s the moral of this fable?

President Biden and His Predecessor in Georgia

On Saturday, March 9th, Joe Biden and his predecessor visited Georgia a few days before the March 12 primary. In Georgia, the media appears to treat President Biden and his predecessor as equals in the 2024 presidential race. But they are not—not by a long shot. The media is replicating how they covered the 2020 presidential race. This is a failure of the free press to discern the real difference between the Republican candidate and the Democratic candidate, who happens to be President of the United States. The Republican candidate sought to stay in office in 2020 by staging a coup on January 6th, 2021. He lost the election by 7 million votes and still to this day, claims the Big Lie that the other side stole the election from him. Millions of Americans believe this, also. This is the underlying context that the press forgets to mention. The predecessor spent for years while sitting in the White House chipping away at the guard rails of democracy. Thankfully he was an under achieving autocrat.

AGEISM

AGEISM

This post is about ageism and how we discriminate against people that are considered old. We need to look at the media and ask why they are making the case that Biden is not fit for office based on his age. Most of the people in the media, those that are writing the stories and reporting on various outlets, are much younger than either Trump or Biden. Could they be involved in a case of bias, discrimination, or bullying on the basis of age? This very well could be the case. Researchers call this ageism, patterned after sexism and racism.
