Trump’s a Loser; Let’s Keep Him that Way “from thE Archives.”

This is a post that is from the archives.  Trump has met very legitimate and lawful protests with force and violence.  He wanted to send 10,000 U.S. troops into American cities but was rebuffed by 3 cabinet members.  He called the state governors weak unless they used force to stop the protests.

I’ve written many posts about Trump and how he is a clear and present danger to the American people, especially if you are a person of color, or immigrants seeking asylum.

Donald Trump is a loser.  In many respects.  Firstly, he lost the vote among American citizens.  He lost by nearly 3,000,000 votes to Hilary Clinton.  George Lakoff calls him a minority president. We are the majority.  The algorithm that was used to put him office is flawed, and needs to changed.  Using an 18th century algorithm, select groups of people cast a vote that can override the people’s vote.

Trump believes people are either winners or losers.  We need to keep in mind that he lost the popular vote.

Trump sees everything as binary.  This means we should tread carefully with impeachment proceedings. He’d  be impeached by the House, but the Senate would not convict him.  He’d see it as a victory and claim he was exonerated of the crimes he did commit.  Keep him a loser.  Impeachment should take place only after the 2020 Presidential election.

He’s More Than a Loser–He’s Dangerous

Donald Trump is dangerous.  He’s dangerous to the entire nation, and the world. If you are an immigrant, legal or illegal you are in danger.  Trump has used his voice to call immigrants invaders, aliens, killers, criminals, and rapists.  He not only uses these words when he talks to the press, but at his 64 rallies held since 2017.  These rallies are incendiary.  He uses these rallies spew hate toward Latinos by demonizing all immigrants, whether illegally in the US, or legally.  And now he’s ready to resume these evil diatribes in Tulsa, Oklahoma, site of the murder of more than 300 African Americans in 1921, and the burning of their community.  No one has been charged

His rhetoric is used by conservative talk show hosts, such as Hannity and Limbaugh, and in white supremacy speech, and web sites, especially by mass murderers, such as the El Paso killer.  Trump’s rehetoric is dangerous.  He’s been systematically targeting people of color, especially Latinos.  At a rally he held in the pan handle of Florida, the crowd ended up chanting “Shoot Them” when Trump asked them “how do you stop these people.?” Months later a white man drove 500 miles to El Paso to “shoot Mexicans.”

He’s dangerous because he lies nearly all the time.  His lies are normally just the opposite of what is the truth.  He’s lied so often, that the New York Times has compiled a definitive list of Trump’s lies.  In his first year in office, his lies cover a calendar. Politifact, using its “Truth-O-Meter,” has compiled a listing of False statements involving Trump (13 pages).

Trump’s lies and his public racism in speech, and on Twitter create a country that is on edge, and has experienced more mass murders than any other year.  There are so many mass shootings, that many are soon forgotten. He takes no responsibility for the effect of his racist rhetoric has on people.  He’ll turn it back and say, I don’t think you can stop people. He has promoted white supremacy by his attacks on Hispanics, and looks the other way if this provocation leads to violent acts. I think he relishes this.

The hate, anger and violence that is happening in the country should be laid at Trump’s feet.  He’s responsible for creating an environment that encourages people to ignore civility, and for some to murder as many people as they can.  The world asks, what is happening to the United States.

This country is becoming cruel.  Today, the Trump administration announced that they are going after legal immigrants, claiming that they must stand on their own, and be denied medicaid or food stamps.  Most of the people affected by this work in very low paying jobs, that most Americans would never do.  Most of these people are Latinos.  This is nothing short of cruelty.

We need to work to defeat Donald Trump in the 2020 election.  Nothing short of the defeat of Trump will be disastrous.

Defeat Trump

Support your local leaders who disagree with the policies of the Trump administration.  Acting locally will result in a national effort that will defeat Trump.  It doesn’t matter what political party you gravitate toward.  It’s important to stand up and oppose the hate and racism that has been perpetuated by Trump. His use of military force against peaceful protesters has been shameful & criminal.  Trump has been a failure in leading the nation’s response to COVID-19.  He continues to act like a dangerous fool.

Let’s keep him out of the Oval Office.

Remember, he’s a loser.

A student at the University of Georgia was killed last week on campus. But because the man they arrested was an undocumented Venezuelan migrant, the Governor, Republican legislators, and a handful of protesters in Athens have turned the incident into a vendetta—a feud in which politicians want to seek vengeance against an entire group of people because of the murder by one person. The Georgia government is laying the blame on the whole Latino community, not only in Athens but throughout the state.

The American Authoritarian Mindset: Understanding Our Nation’s Path to Oppression

Authoritarianism is a mindset that is characterized by a strong belief in the power of authority and a tendency to support the status quo. This mindset is often seen in the United States, where it is deeply rooted in the nation’s history and culture. It is a mindset that has been used to justify oppressive policies and practices, and it has been linked to a range of social and political issues.

The post examines authoritarianism in the context of present political dilemma.

Is Donald Trump a Tyrant?

I thought I would revisit a blog post I wrote in August 2019 when Donald Trump was in the White House. The post was rewritten for my book, The Trump Files. Donald Trump is one of a host of strongmen identified in Ruth Ben-Ghiat’s book. Trump is a dangerous authoritarian who feeds his cult and their narcissism.
