The Last Days of Trump

Unveiling the Truth

Explore the final chapter of Trump’s political saga and the rise of Kamala Harris. Trump’s end came when he supported the insurrection on January 6, 2021. His record as president was dismal, and my book The Trump Files: An Account of the Trump Administration’s Effect on American Democracy, Human Rights, Science, and Public Health describes it in detail.

One reviewer said that The Trump Filesaccounting is wide-ranging, sharp-elbowed, and deeply committed to democracy and equality. With sharp, clear-eyed prose he takes on racial injustice, the Trumpist worldview (in a discussion inspired by the work of George Lakoff), how “the United States drifted toward authoritarian and autocratic rule,” and most thoroughly how “science in the Trump era was diminished at the peril of the health and well-being for not only people and other living things, but Earth itself.”

I’ve been writing a blog since 2005.  I used my blog writing while Trump was in office as the foundation for the book. In the Trump Files, I witnessed and described a corrupt president’s actions.

The Harris Era Begins: Watch her Speech

The Trump Ad Controversy

Kamala Harris and Others Seem to Get Under Trump's Skin

Did you see the Trump ad claiming that Kamala Harris, while District Attorney in San Francisco, released convicted felons from Jail? I’d like to know if she’ll release felon Donald Trump from jail after she enters the Oval Office on January 20, 2025.

But she was tough on organized crime while Attorney General of California, so who knows what she will do.

Donald Trump doesn’t smile. Kamala Harris smiles most of the time.  Donald Trump can’t stand anyone joking about his outrageous claims and conspiracy theories. He’s furious if someone laughs at him.  He never self-deprecates or shows any sign of humor.  Yet he engages in hate speech aimed at his political opponents.  His hate speech is riddled with lies and foolery.  He bumbles. He makes no sense.

People are now getting under his skin.

Here are two stirring speeches given at the DNC in Chicago. Georgia Senator Raphael and Former First Lady Michelle Obama tell it like it is.

As we approach the upcoming election, the choice is clear: Kamala Harris. This is another election and a pivotal moment in our nation’s history. The decisions we make will shape our future, and there is only one candidate who can lead us forward.

Hope is Making a Comeback

Vermont Voter Preferences

Here is a very interesting recent polling result in Vermont. Recent surveys in Vermont reveal a significant shift in voter preferences, reflecting the changing political climate.

I wonder what Trump thinks about these results.

  • Support for Trump—27% 27% 27%
  • Support for Kamala Harris—67% 67% 67%
  • Undecided Voters—3% 6% 6%

Kamala Harris on Democracy

A Leader's Responsibility

Kamala Harris views democracy as a sacred trust that must be upheld with integrity and dedication. She believes that being an American comes with the profound responsibility to protect and advance the principles of freedom, equality, and justice. Harris emphasizes that the strength of democracy lies in the active participation of its citizens and the unwavering commitment of its leaders to serve the public good.

As the daughter of parents who brought her to civil rights marches in a stroller, she was inspired to tackle injustice from an early age. She took that mission to county courtrooms, the California Attorney General’s office, the United States Senate, and the White House.

Now she is running for President of the United States to continue protecting our freedoms, delivering justice, and expanding opportunity so that every American can not just get by, but get ahead.

For Harris, the role of a leader is to inspire and empower the people, ensuring that every voice is heard and every individual has the opportunity to thrive. She sees her position not just as a privilege but as a duty to uphold the values that define the nation and to work tirelessly for the betterment of all Americans.

A Vision for America

Contrasting Values & Goals

Kamala Harris and Donald Trump represent two vastly different set of values and goals. Harris is known for her collaborative and inclusive style, focusing on building consensus and fostering unity. She prioritizes transparency, accountability, and the rule of law, aiming to restore trust in government institutions.

In stark contrast, Donald Trump’s tenure was marked by divisive rhetoric and a disregard for democratic norms. His ‘America First’ policy often alienated allies and undermined international cooperation. Trump’s leadership was characterized by a tendency to prioritize personal loyalty over competence and to spread misinformation for political gain.

Donald Trump is an existential threat to the United States.  The world is facing many problems, including climate change and nuclear proliferation, each of which could lead to the extinction of many life forms, including Homo sapiens.

Donald Trump can not be trusted to deal with either of these issues, let alone bring people together.

Not only is Trump an existential threat, but he’s also a convicted criminal found guilty of 34 felonies in the New York Hush Money case.

Kamala is not an existential threat.  She is an experienced leader who has prosecuted criminals in California for over a dozen years as the San Francisco DA and Attorney General of California.

Trump's Legal Troubles

Donald Trump is currently facing multiple legal challenges that could significantly impact his political future. He has been indicted in Washington D.C., Atlanta, and Florida, with charges ranging from election interference to financial fraud. These legal battles are not just a personal issue for Trump but also a critical factor in the broader political landscape.

Among the most serious accusations is his involvement in the January 6 Capitol attack, for which he is held solely responsible. Additionally, Trump has been convicted of inflating asset values to secure favorable loans, a scheme that defrauded financial institutions of significant sums. These ongoing legal issues raise questions about his viability as a future political candidate and his ability to lead effectively.

Stephen Miller: A Trump Pick You May Not Know About

Donald Trump has started selecting people to be part of his administration. The first batch included Tulsi Gabbard, Pete Hegseth, Matt Gaetz, and Robert Kennedy. Some folks consider them deplorable.

Yet, one of the first picks was Stephen Miller. Do you know who he is?  Or what position he’ll have in the Trump administration?  He won’t hold a cabinet spot. But he will have an office in the White House. He’ll keep his position from 2017 to 2021 as deputy chief of staff for policy.

Miller has been and will continue as one of Trump’s most influential advisors. He’s been in Trump’s orbit for nearly a decade. Miller crafted Trump’s rally speeches and designed immigration policies that banned Muslims and separated families. He will be at the center of the threat to deport millions of undocumented immigrants. The danger to American immigrant families is real. Trump is determined to carry out his threat. Stephen Miller will lead this dehumanizing and cruel assault on people.  Indeed, people like most of us. We are all descendants of immigrants who came to America for a better life. Miller is a descendant of a Jewish family that escaped from Russia in 1903.

I don’t want to be a downer or a killjoy, but as they say (originally about opera), “The show’s not over until the fat lady sings!” Elon Musk? Bobby Kennedy Jr.? Right-Wing Rodents don’t advertise their baffling position, most are so old they don’t care if the ecosystem dies next week, they live for today. So the fight ain’t over by a longshot! but let’s enjoy it
