Let’s elect Trump in ’24. That’s correct. Roger Hines is an opinion writer for the Marietta Daily Journal. He wrote a piece that was entitled “Why Trump should be elected in 2024.” This was published after the Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol met. It was their ninth meeting.

In the transcript of the meeting, Liz Chaney, Republican Representative from Wyoming, said:

Today we will see new evidence but, as the chairman said, we will also synthesize evidence you’ve seen before. The vast weight of evidence presented so far has shown us that the central cause of January 6th was one man, Donald Trump, who many others followed. None of this would have happened without him.

One day later, the MDJ published an article that claimed that we should elect Trump in ’24. Hines wrote:

“Trump can and will restore sanity to a nation that is now veering off the tracks. He’s done it before by defeating the one he would most likely face again.

Trump: The Central Cause of the January 6 Attack

Trump was the central cause of the January 6th insurrection. He invited, encouraged, and directed Americans to charge the Capitol, telling them as their “general” he will join them on their way to the center of government. Afterward Nancy Pelosi said that if he comes to the Capitol, then we will head to the White House.

Politics in Georgia are much like they are in other “battleground” states, completely polarized. Georgia has a lot of politicians running for elected office who still accept or believe that the 2020 presidential election was stolen from Donald Trump. There is no evidence supporting this. There is, however, much evidence that Donald Trump and many of his allies colluded with each other to steal the election from the American people.

In Georgia, more than a dozen Republicans met secretly in the Georgia state capitol building to prepare a phony document stating that Donald Trump won the election in Georgia and therefore should get all of the electoral votes from the state. Other states did the same thing. In the case of Georgia, Fani Willis, Fulton County District Attorney has subpoened all of these people. Willis is heading the investigation into the Donald Trump’s attempt to change the outcome of the 2020 Georgia presidential election.

Restoring Sanity?

And Roger Hines thinks that Donald Trump can restore sanity to the nation?

Donald Trump’s “big lie” is the underlying cause of the disruption the country faces with election integrity and the democratic way of governing. The truth is that Donald Trump knew he lost the election, and in fact told those around him not to say he did, and even asked his chief of staff to do something about it.

We also know that Trump was directly involved in hatching the plan to upend the election by any means. He pressured the vice president, and continued with his disparaging of Mike Pence, even when the capitol was being overrun by the hoards of patriotic American criminals. Some of the hoard was out to hang the Veep.

For anyone to think that Donald Trump could restore sanity to the United States is the “pot calling the kettle black.” Hines conception is an example of what we call psychological projection. Trump’s projections are typically nonsensical. I believe that Trump’s lying is actually his projection of his disorders onto to others.

Trump’s persistent lying and his use of conspiracy theories created a new normal for truth and reliability. According to Henry Giroux, under the Trump regime, a culture of lying normalized a world where truth was not only undermined but lost its legitimacy. Truth, in Trump’s world, is assigned to “fake news.” In a sense, a form of illiteracy appeared during the Trump years that led to threats and violence.

The last thing that this nation needs is another term with Trump in the White House.

Authoritarianism is a mindset that is characterized by a strong belief in the power of authority and a tendency to support the status quo. This mindset is often seen in the United States, where it is deeply rooted in the nation’s history and culture. It is a mindset that has been used to justify oppressive policies and practices, and it has been linked to a range of social and political issues.

Is Donald Trump a Tyrant?

I thought I would revisit a blog post I wrote in August 2019 when Donald Trump was in the White House. The post was rewritten for my book, The Trump Files. Donald Trump is one of a host of strongmen identified in Ruth Ben-Ghiat’s book. Trump is a dangerous authoritarian who feeds his cult and their narcissism.

You think this is a witch hunt, Mr. President? That’s an insult to the women who suffered

You think this is a witch hunt, Mr. President? That’s an insult to the women who suffered

It borders on the ludicrous to hear the US President, touted as the most powerful man in the world, complain of being persecuted like a witch. The deaths of those convicted of witchcraft should not be demeaned and belittled.
