Facial Recognition

Twitter Mouth” has purposly shaped the media, the House of Representatives, and the Senate to either deny, duck and hide, or condemn his racist comments about Ayanna Pressley (Mass.), Rashida Tlaib (Mich.), and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (N.Y.) and Ilhan Omar (Minn.).

If you look at Trump’s facial expressions when he responding to questions about his tweets, you can see the hatred and contempt allied with his serial lying.

Trump’s face signals anger, rage, digust, loathing, and contempt.  Click here to see a panel of his facial images. His expressions are coupled with angry statements that typically are outright lies.  He denies his comments are racist, and goes on to defend his remarks with lies about others.  Yesterday, when he spued hate toward immigrants he lied about what immigrants do after they apply for assylum.  He claims that only between 5 and 10% of these immigrants come back for their court hearing, while the Department of Homeland Security states that about 85% return and show up for their hearing.

“If your not happy, you can leave,” is his suggestion to people he thinks are unhappy.  The problem with this is that we live in a country where its ok to be unhappy, and indeed, if you don’t like what the government is doing, it your legal right to protest.

Or put it his way.  Trump complained for years about our country falling behind, being beaten by China, and so forth.  As Trevor Howard said last night, why don’t you just leave, Mr. Trump.

The American Authoritarian Mindset: Understanding Our Nation’s Path to Oppression

Authoritarianism is a mindset that is characterized by a strong belief in the power of authority and a tendency to support the status quo. This mindset is often seen in the United States, where it is deeply rooted in the nation’s history and culture. It is a mindset that has been used to justify oppressive policies and practices, and it has been linked to a range of social and political issues.

The post examines authoritarianism in the context of present political dilemma.

Is Donald Trump a Tyrant?

Is Donald Trump a Tyrant?

I thought I would revisit a blog post I wrote in August 2019 when Donald Trump was in the White House. The post was rewritten for my book, The Trump Files. Donald Trump is one of a host of strongmen identified in Ruth Ben-Ghiat’s book. Trump is a dangerous authoritarian who feeds his cult and their narcissism.

You think this is a witch hunt, Mr. President? That’s an insult to the women who suffered

You think this is a witch hunt, Mr. President? That’s an insult to the women who suffered

It borders on the ludicrous to hear the US President, touted as the most powerful man in the world, complain of being persecuted like a witch. The deaths of those convicted of witchcraft should not be demeaned and belittled.
