Georgia schools should not open. If they are open, they should close. A red line of at least 10% must be reached, but many say that a 5% test rate should be reached. Georgia’s rate of infection is 13%. Not the time to open schools.

John Lewis: Standing for Good Trouble

John Lewis, at age 25 in 1965, led a peaceful march of around 600 from Selma to Montgomery, Alabama. At the very beginning of the March, they had to cross the bridge you see in the painting. While crossing, they were met by state troopers on horseback. The troopers charged the marchers beating them with clubs, batons, and rifle buts. Lewis was beaten nearly to death with a cracked skull and concussion. He tried to get up, but was beaten again. This is my painting of John Lewis. Stormtroopers in American Cities: Trump’s Fear Tactic

The President of the United States is sending stormtroopers into American cities. Without any invitation or consent of the governor of Oregon or the mayor of Portland, hundreds of camouflaged armed troops have used force against legal protestors. The protestors are not breaking the law by protesting police brutality and the unequal treatment of people of color. These stormtroopers are not there to help local law enforcement, but instead use aggressive force against protestors.

Although the number of positive tests has been about 10%, today’s results indicated that 16% of the tests were positive.
