When you wake up next Tuesday, July 19th you’ll only have to wait until 1 P.M. Eastern Time for the announcement from the National Academy Sciences the publication of A New Framework for K-12 Science Education.  You’ll be able to access the framework here after the announcement.

You are invited to go to the meeting which will take place  Marian Koshland Science Museum of the National Academy of Sciences, 525 E Street N.W., Washington, D.C.  RSVP to Rebecca Krone at* rkrone@nas.edu

The Framework will be the basis for a new set of Science Standards

The Framework has been in development for more than a year, and was published last year in a draft form. You can read an excellent review of the draft here by Eric Brunsell. This will give you some idea of what to expect on Tuesday.  You can also access blog postings that I have made on this website about the new conceptual framework here.

According to an email received over the NARST list, the framework will be the basis for a new set of science education standards.
