Trump Impeached and Forty-Eight Senators Found Him Guilty

The President of the United States was found guilty on one impeachment charge by 48 U.S. Senators. Only one senator did not vote along party lines, and that was Sen. Mitt Romney, who found Trump guilty. On the second charge, 47 senators found Trump guilty.

A number of Republican senators said that Trump shouldn’t have done what he did, which was to commit high crimes and misdemeanors, but they just couldn’t vote guilty on the impeachment counts. Their excuses were laughable. Sen. Collins of Maine said on national TV that she believed Trump learned his lesson!

Trump clearly has not learned any lessons. Last night, every page of his speech included one lie after another, so much so that the Speaker of the House chose to rip her copy of the speech in front of us all.

It’s dark day for the United States. Trump will show no remorse, but instead will revel in his so called acquittal.
