The Theft of Fifteen Boxes from the White House

At least Fifteen Boxes of documents were stolen by Donald Trump from the White House. On or about January 18, 2021, two moving trucks were spotted at the Mar-a-Logo PREMISES. According to the Affidavit in support of a warrant to search and seize, CBS Miami reported in an article, that at least two trucks were observed at Donald Trump’s residence at 1100 S. Ocean Blvd, Palm Beach, FL (p. 11, Affidavit). Apparently, the trucks contained documents that Trump stole from the White House and moved to be with him after he left office.

According to law, the removal and storage of U.S. government classified documents is unlawful as spelled out in the following.

  • Whoever knowingly alters, destroys, mutilates, conceals, covers up, falsifies, or makes a false entry in any record, document, or tangible object with the intent to impede, obstruct, or influence the investigation or proper administration of any matter within the jurisdiction of any department or agency of the United States or any case filed under title 11, or in relation to or contemplation of any such matter or case, shall be fined under this title, imprisoned not more than 20 years, or both.
  • Whoever willfully and unlawfully conceals, removes, mutilates, obliterates, or destroys, or attempts to do so, or, with intent to do so takes and carries away any record, proceeding, map, book, paper, document, or other thing, filed or deposited with any clerk or officer of any court of the United States, or in any public office, or with any judicial or public officer of the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both.

After reading the redacted Affidavit in Support of an Application Under Rule 41 for a Warrant to Search and Seize, it is looks like the Former President of the United States (FPOTUS) is in big trouble. Even though two trucks were spotted at the South Florida PREMISES, the U.S. Government was unaware that any documents were missing, or indeed that someone might have stolen sensitive information and top secret documents from the White House.

Around May 6, 2021, the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) realized that documents were missing that should have turned over by the White House before Trump flew to Florida on January 20, 2021. Unknown to even those close to Trump, he had secretly taken box loads of documents, including papers, maps, books, letters, most of which were classified, even to the level of “top secret.”

For a detailed and professional analysis of the potential crimes that Trump may be charged with, I recommend that you consult the work of Terri Kanefield, author, lawyer, and teacher of English and creative writing. She writes a weekly blog. I’ve not found more interesting or detailed information about the corrupt FPOTUS. She has a more detailed and nuanced timeline of “Trump’s stolen documents and how it relates to the Espionage Act and Obstruction. This is the best analysis of the lead-up to the raid on Mar-a-Lago.

A warning to Trump telling him to lock the doors where the files are stored at Mar-a-Lago
The Judge Signs the Warrant to Raid Mar-a-Lago

It took months for NARA to get their hands on the documents that were stored in closets and offices at Mar-a-Lago. Here is a time line that I compiled from the Affidavit to search Trump’s PREMISES.

DateActivity including requests and results
January 18, 2021Two trucks spotted at Mar-a-Lago PREMISES of FPOTUS
May 6, 2021NARA made request for the missing PRA records and continued to make requests until approximately late Dec 2021 when NARA was informed twelve boxes were found and ready for retrieval from the PREMISES.
Feb 9, 2022Special Agent of NARA’s office of Inspector General sent NARA Referral via email to DOJ stating that THE FIFTEEN BOXES contained lots of stuff: newspapers, magazines, printed news articles, photos, miscellaneous print-outs, presidential correspondence, personal and post presidential records and a lot of classified records.
Feb 18, 2022Archivist of the US, chief administrator for NARA, sent a letter to Congress’s Oversight and Reform Chairwoman, The Honorable Carolyn B. Maloney stating that communications with FPOTUS representatives resulting in transferring 15 boxes from Mar-a-Lago to NARA in January 2022 contained national security information causing them to contact the DOJ.
Feb 18, 2022Save America Political Action Committee stated on behalf of FPOTUS: “The National Archives did not find anything, they were given, upon request, Presidential Records in an ordinary and routine process to ensure the preservation of my legacy and in accordance with the Presidential Records Act
May 5, 2022Article published in Breitbart claimed that documents from Mar-a-Lago in the FIFTEEN BOXES were already declassified by the FPOTUS.
May 16-18, 2022FBI agents conducted a preliminary review of the FIFTEEN BOXES and identified documents with classification markings in fourteen of the FIFTEEN BOXES. Result of inspection: 184 unique documents bearing classification markings, including 67 marked as CONFIDENTIAL, 92 documents marked as SECRET, and 25 marked as TOP SECRET. Additional markings included HCS, FISA, ORCON, NOFORN, and SI—-meaning these classifications mean they contain NDI. POTUS handwritten notes.
June 8, 2022DOJ COUNSEL sent FPOTUS COUNSEL a letter which reiterates that the PREMISES are not authorized to store classified information and requested the preservation of the STORAGE ROOM and boxes that had been moved (stolen) from the White House to the PREMISES.  OR, specifically, Mar-a-Lago does not include a secure location to store important stuff.  And as such since January 20, 2021 or thereabouts, when the documents were removed from the White House and moved to Mar-a-Lago, they have not been stored in an appropriate (to say the least) location.   So, lock the doors, boys until further notice.
June 9, 2022FPOTUS COUNSEL, sent email saying they received the DOJ COUNSEL EMAIL.
June 9 – Aug 5 2022FBI states:
There is Probable Cause to Believe That Documents Containing Classified NDI and Presidential Records Remain at the PREMISES.

I BELIEVE that the STORAGE ROOM, EPOTUS’S residential suite, Pine Hall, and “45 OFFICE,” and other spaces within the PREMISES are not authorized to store classified material.

The AffIdavit seeks authorization to search the “45 office” and all storage rooms at the PREMISES.

I submit that probable cause exists to believe that evidence, contraband, fruits of crime, or other items illegally possessed in violation of 18 U.S.C 793 €, 2071, or 1519 will be found at the PREMISES. This affidavit supports seizing the items in Attachment B.
Aug 5, 2022Sealing. Request that the Court order a sealing of all papers in support of this application, the application and search warrant. Premature disclosure of the contents of the affidavit may have a negative impact on the continuing investigation. We don’t know who the criminal confederates are!
August 9, 2022FBI carries out a raid of the PREMISES of the FPOTUS at Mar-a-Lago
Box loads of documents are retrieved, identified, signed off on, and removed from the PREMISES
THIS IS A BRIEF TIMELINE OF THE EVENTS LEADING UP TO THE RAID ON TRUMP’S MAR-A-LAGO PREMISES ON AUGUST 9, 2022

The theft of hundreds of documents by Donald Trump is further evidence that Trump should have been removed from office long before he was flown back to Mar-a-Lago on January 20, 2021. Trump’s Magnum Mendacium (The Big Lie) has put the democracy of the country in danger. The 2022 election will be an another advance warning for what might happen in November 2024.

Examining Trump’s Authoritarian Strategies in 2020: His Attempted Coup

I wrote this post in on December 10, 2020 from my home office. From here, I can see wetlands formed from Mud Creek. Mud Creek is a small stream about 100 meters from my backyard. It runs for a few miles until it merges with Noses Creek. Eventually, it meets with Sweetwater Creek, a tributary of the Chattahoochee River, Georgia’s largest river.

I have been writing from this office since 1993. I will share more in the future as The Mud Creek Chronicles.

Visiting the past can help us navigate the future. This is especially true now. We have a wannabe dictator and a known authoritarian. They prefer meeting with leaders of authoritarian nations rather than democratic leaders.

Donald Trump and his sycophants were trying to steal the 2020 election. I wrote this nearly a month before he incited thousands to attack the United States Capitol Building. It was obvious. Or it should have been obvious. Autocrat Trump was showing the world that he was determined to stay in office, no matter what.
What did we learn from this attempted coup?

Another Existential Threat: Donald J. Trump

Another Existential Threat: Donald J. Trump

Donald Trump is now the president-elect and brings upon us another existential threat. In my book, The Trump Files, I concluded that Trump poses a significant risk. This is a conclusion I made if he were ever elected again as President. His election created an existential threat.

101 Years Ago, Germany Sought A Dictator: I Hope We are Not.

101 Years Ago, Germany Sought A Dictator: I Hope We Are Not. Germany had suffered the trauma of defeat in World War I. Significantly, there were plots to bring down German democracy. Donald Trump thinks he’s a “strongman.” He certainly utters some of the words used by dictators and strongmen. But Trump is not A strongman. He desperately wants to be. He is weak and old. Trump may be a weak strongman, but he is a dangerous wanna-be dictator. If he were elected, he would surely undermine and attempt to dismantle democratic guard rails. He’s a convicted felon and shouldn’t be president
