There was a blue wave in the 2020 Presidential election. However, it didn’t happen as many people expected. For various reasons, Donald Trump created the second blue wave because of his failed response to the COVID-19 pandemic. His failure to act decisively, and use the science that was available to him and his administration created a fracture amongst the American people.

Instead of being truthful about what he knew about the disease, he instead decided that it would be in his best interest to hide the truth about what epidemiologists were telling him and us. They knew that COVID-19 would be as serious, if not more so in terms of illness and death as the 1918 Flu. It’s more so. COVID-19 is the number 1 cause of death in the U.S. Trump led the United State to an absolute chaotic COVID-19 disaster.

Trump flaunted scientific advice on T.V., in the White House, and during his rallies, which according to some reports, led to at least 700 deaths among people who attended. He refused to wear a mask. He continued to shake hands. Trump ignored the concept of social distancing. And, as Anthony Fauci predicted, Trump would get COVID-19. And Trump used this to mock the country, and showcase his distain for truth and empathy.

But all of this cost him the election. He claimed years ago that the election was going to rigged. He told his crowds around the country that vote-by-mail would be fraudulent and he thereby encouraged his followers not to use the mail to vote. Citizens of the U.S. knew they could vote by mail. And they did and helped elect Joe and Kamala.

Biden and Harris Did It..with help

But Joe Biden wore a mask. And around the country, especially in Pennsylvania, Georgia and Arizona, democrats decided to use the mail in, or like many, they drove to polling locations and placed their ballot in a mail box. What could be easier than that. Consequently, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris are now President-Elect and Vice-President-Elect, respectively.

Stacey Abrams

Stacey Abrams had spent most of the last four years building a network of organizations that highlighted voter suppression and through this work, registered hundreds of thousands of new voters. Many people believe that her organization, Fair Fight, was one of the reasons the Georgia is becoming a blue state.

Georgia Blue

The Blue Wave came after the polls had closed. Mail ballots could not be processed until November 3, election day. It takes time to process paper ballots. Each state has its own procedures for processing mail in ballots. Several people, from 3 to 4 are involved with approving each absentee ballot. In Georgia, this blue wave of votes took several days after the election to begin to come into state election officials. Joe Biden over came a big deficit, and right now is leading Trump by more than 7,000 votes.

January 2021 Blue Wave

Jon Ossoff has forced a run-off election for U.S. Senate against incumbent David Perdue. Georgia requires that a candidate must get at least 50% of vote. Right now Perdue leads Ossoff 49.8% to 47.9.

The Blue Wave also has gained momentum in the second senate election in Georgia. Since no one got more than 50% of the vote, there will be a run-off between democrat Raphael Warnock and republican Kelly Loeffler. Warnock got 32.9% and Loeffler got 25.9% of the vote.

This will be an unprecedented election. If the democrats can win both races, the U.S. Senate will be controlled by them because with a 50-50 Senate, Vice-President-Elect Harris will be the deciding vote.
