Learning to Become by Ed Johnson, Advocate for education
Ed Johnson advocates for education, especially in the Atlanta Public Schools (APS). Although we have never met in person, we met after I saw the local Atlanta television news program’s video interview with Ed. The program asked him questions about the nature of learning in the APS. Ed has advocated for a systems and humanistic education approach and interacted with the Atlanta Board of Education and the APS. Over the years, we have collaborated on issues related to education.
Today, I received one of Ed’s almost daily emails. He shares his manifesto for a transformative Atlanta Public Education in this email. You must realize that I don’t know anyone in the metropolitan Atlanta area who knows more and shares more than Ed Johnson. Here is a link to some of the posts on this blog that focus on Ed’s views on education and society. Our conversation also included a draft Statement of Purpose of Atlanta Public Schools.
If you think the following resonates with you, you can take it as your own.

Again, Ed reminds us that if his personal manifesto resonates with you, please take it as your own.
