The theme that I’ve been writing about is change, alternative paradigms for learning, and how change needs to happen in our schools and schooling.
There is a good chance that I won’t be making posts over the next few days as I’ll be traveling to Lincoln, England for a week. However, if I wanted to write, I expect there would be no problem, at least not the kind of problem that Mr. Barlow, a science teacher from Australia, had while he was visiting China. He ran into a firewall that didn’t allow him to make posts on his weblog using WordPress (which is what powers this Weblog). In my stead I’ve posted a short lists of blogs, and a few websites related to new paradigms you might enjoy reading.
Weblogs:
Mr. Barlow’s Weblog—a science teacher from Australia reports on “interesting stuff.”
Dot Earth—Andrew Revkin’s blog on the environment, or “Nine Billion People, One Planet.”
SES: Science, Education, & Society—commentaries on science and education and how these topics relate to soci-economic status and other class actions among African-American communities
Cool Cat Teacher—a weblog by a technology teacher about new tools for teaching.
Some Websites:
Why humanist communities should embrace charter schools—An article of interest!
U.S. Charter Schools—website supported by a consortium of organizations with interest in charter schools.
Web-Based Projects—Three science related online projects.
The Gates Foundation—Education and Health Projects Around the world.
K – 12 Innovative Schools—Collaborative of innovative schools.
