The first Trump Files book event was held Saturday, April 15, at the Barnes & Noble Store in West Cobb. I was pleased that the B&N store set me up right at the front of the store. People had to stumble or walk past me. Thanks to Jenny Kimura, the artistic designer of the book, the display caught their eye.
Some people who came up to talk with me asked: “Is The Trump Files a book for or against Trump?” I didn’t answer their question with “for or against”; instead I tried to start a conversation with them to help them understand why and how I wrote the book. Some were pro-Trump, and one said he was the greatest president ever. I also had a long conversation with another person who, in my opinion was a Christian nationalist who went on and on about Trumpism was just what America needed.
But, more people than not were genuinely concerned about what Trump did to our country, and we had some interesting conversations. I was honored to meet Randy Crump, a former Cobb County teacher and one of my earliest graduate students at Georgia State. Tony Hoops, the owner of the Satoria on the Square boutique, came by, and we had a great conversation about Trump.
