Georgia Republicans, led by Governor Brian Kemp, have suppressed thousands of Georgia Democrat’s right to free and fair elections. This post explores how and what tactics they’ve used and what we can do to push back on them.
Perhaps there is more to Warnock’s victory than luck and running a smart campaign, as reported in the AJC. Steve Phillips, founder of Democracy in Color, explains how a new coalition of voters elected Warnock. Georgia is changing.
Warnock Wins! That’s the kind of headline I thought I might read on today’s AJC newspaper this morning. But I didn’t. For over a month, there has been nothing more important in the news other than the Warnock-Walker runoff election for a 6-year term in the U.S. Senate.
We can conclude that the Election Integrity Act has reduced the ways that people vote. Fewer people are voting by absentee ballot. The reduced period of the runoff has reduced the total number of people who will vote in the Dec. 6 runoff.
I voted for Warnock today, and I think he will win. In this post I share some data on early voting to emphasize how votes are distributed across the state.
